Film actor Ben Gazzara said good bye to the world

Famous film and stage actor Ben Gazzara has gone to the heaven in New York at the age of 81. He began his career in the theatre, starring in the original Broadway construction of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. In 1955, he originated the position of Block Pollitt, the bothered alcoholic son and failed football star in the Tennessee Williams' play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
He starred in the TV sequence Run for Your Life which saw him two times chosen for an Emmy throughout the show's three-year run in 1965. Gazzara, who had been anguishing from pancreatic cancer, later appeared in sect comedy The Big Lebowski, directed by the Coen Brothers. He had gone the show after only seven months to get on the role of Johnny Pope, the drug addict in A Hatful of Rain, which earned him the first of three Tony Award nominations.
