Three-Day Israel Attack Gaza, 18 Killed

Crossfire between Palestinian militants and Israeli soldiers have been held for three days in the Gaza Strip. At least 18 Palestinians were killed and dozens wounded in Israeli missile attack.
Reported by CNN, Monday, March 12, 2012, among the dead was the Secretary General of the Popular Resistance Committees, Zuhair al-Qaisy, and military leader of Hamas, Mahmoud Ahmad Al-Hanini. Israeli air strike on Sunday killed two civilians, including 13-year boy in Gaza.
Israeli authorities said the shooting began last Friday as Palestinian militants in Gaza fired more than 130 missiles into the city of Ashdod. Eight Israelis were wounded, and about 500,000 were evacuated.
The Israeli military said about 93 missiles had landed in their territory, while 37 others were destroyed in the air by the Iron Dome missile defense system.
In addition to firing rockets, Israel lowers jet fighter to attack the suspected militant nest. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, they were successful counterattack to destroy terrorist bases.
