Moammar Gadhafi's daughter, Aisha, showed a different public face on Friday, challenging and venomous speeches to a crowd of worship from the rubble of buildings in his compound in Tripoli, a few days ago after 25 years bombed by U.S. warplanes.
"When I was a kid, when I was 9 years old, in this house, missiles and bombs raining down. They tried to kill me," he said, speaking from a balcony on the second floor damaged by shrapnel. "After 25 years, the same missile, the same bomb bombard our children's heads."
Shortly after that attack ordered by President Ronald Reagan on April 15, 1986 after Libyan agents accused of bombing a nightclub in Berlin earlier this month in the same year - the young Aisha was photographed brandishing his fist in the air. Since then, the woman known as the "Claudia Schiffer Libya" to look like a supermodel who has been trained as a lawyer, served as ambassador to the UN and created a controversy by joining Saddam Hussein's defense team and speaking support the Irish Republican Army.
On Friday, he appeared in his element, condemned for killing his grandfather when Italy invaded Libya 100 years ago and the West because he wanted to kill his father. "God curse their hands," he said.
Meanwhile the crowd became excited with the shouts of "People want to Moammar Gaddafi," and "God, Moammar, Libya, that's all we need," Aisha, 34, pausing to get the effect every few minutes, tidying-green scarf and -black, brandishing his fist.
"Talk about Gaddafi retreat is an affront to all Libyans because Gaddafi is not in Libya, but in the hearts of all Libyans," said his daughter.
"We ask the West ... civilians who do you think you say you're trying to protect, whether you are talking about people who hold machine guns, RPGs and bombs?" he said.
Since the NATO air strikes began on March 19, thousands of Libyans have gathered each night in the compound of Bab al-Aziziyah, or Splendid Gate, offering themselves as human shields to protect the person who calls himself "Brother Leader" Libya is.
"He was my father. He was the father of us all," said Fatma al-Alem, 34, who said he had been sleeping in the compound every night since mid-March.
On Friday, troops rained Gaddafi more than 100 rockets into the port city to encourage the rebels in the besieged Misrata, in what the Western allies denounced as "medieval siege."
A supporter of insurgents in the western town Misrata, which is besieged by government forces and the place of daily clashes, said the daughter of Gaddafi's speech as a sign of desperation.
"Gaddafi has ruled Libya with an iron fist for 41 years and kill anyone who tried to oppose it," said Marwan, 22 years old.
"What he says is a sign of desperation Gaddafi family and circle it. They know their days are staying a little longer," his opinions, told Reuters by telephone from the coastal city.
Meanwhile, the Arabic television channel al-Arabiya reported that Moussa Koussa Libyan defector wants to stay in Qatar, where he was reported to be a guest of the royal family after the emirate was allowed to escape earlier this week.
Britain lifted sanctions against Koussa earlier this week to allow him to fly to Doha for the summit on the future of Libya.
But rebel leaders refused to meet with him because of 'human rights record'.
