British Aircraft Emergency Landing in Greece

British passenger plane, Thomson Airways, made an emergency landing in Athens, Greece, after receiving a bomb threat. The plane was carrying 213 passengers en route from Bristol, England, to Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
"The aircraft landed with the Greek fighter jet escort," said Greek officials, as reported by the Associated Press on Monday night, April 4, 2011.
Greek Air Force to deploy two F-16 fighter jets and Super Puma helicopters to escort the plane down to Athens International Airport. The aircraft successfully landed at 15.00 local time or 19:00 pm.
The passengers were successfully evacuated and the plane is being checked. "No passenger was injured in this incident," said Christian Cull, director of communications for TUI UK, owner of Thomson.
Greek state television said the threat was received via telephone to Thomson.
British police already know of this incident, but could not take action. Because this incident occurred in the territory of Greece.
